Takashi Sugiyama
From 2001, he spent 18 years at various global consulting firms, supporting the revitalization and growth of numerous clients. He is skilled in on-the-ground support for international business startups, corporate restructuring, as well as the planning and execution of management and governance for subsidiaries acquired through cross-border M&A.
As a Partner responsible for the cross-border M&A practice at Deloitte Tohmatsu Consulting, he provided full-spectrum support for M&A strategy development, execution, and post-merger integration (PMI).
In 2019, he joined Toridoll Holdings. As Executive Vice President and COO of the group, he overseed both overseas business operations and the overall management of the domestic and international group.
In overseas operations, he formulated global expansion strategies and established the headquarter’s international business team. Leading the company’s growth across 10 brands in 30 countries, he promoted leadership in each country, driving expansion. Through active brand development and strategic use of M&A, he contributed to a threefold increase in overseas sales (approximately reaching 100 billion yen) during his tenure.
Additionally, as Vice President of the Holding Company, he played a key role in transforming the group into a global brand portfolio management entity. He led initiatives such as defining the group’s purpose, vision, and mission, promoting globalization of holding company functions and team structures, evolving the group’s management/ governance model, and implementing a human capital management model with a focus on “people” at the core of store operations. These efforts led to long-term improvements in customer satisfaction, employee happiness, and corporate value.
